It is probably one of the smallest gorges in Salzburg, but one of the most beautiful ones. The wild and romantic gorge convinces with lush nature, crystal clear water and a great waterfall.
The place around the Tiefsteinbach is definitely one of those magical power – places in the area. Young and old are fascinated by this environment. While adults recharge and gain energy, kids can work themselves out, splash around and let their imagination run wild. The gorge is an absolute insider tip, especially on hot days. The path through the gorge ends at a bridge that offers a fantastic view of the waterfall. There is also a legend about three wild women that can be read along the way.
Where to go?
The way to the gorge is short, but you can plan it as a round tour and continue along the crystal clear Tiefsteinbach. The path leads through a beautiful forest area and you will also find a number of wonderful places to play, linger and picnic. It is more about a leisurely walk in the forest, where you can recharge your batteries wonderfully, so plan enough time to stay. Especially on hot days, the area around the impressive, large rocks is wonderfully shady and naturally acclimated.
To protect nature and to preserve this wonderful place, please remember to take everything (especially rubbish) with you and dispose of it in the designated places.
